The stars came out Sunday night to the 81st Annual Academy Awards in Los Angeles.
The interviews, evening gowns, and tearful acceptance speeches are why I love to watch. The highlight for me is ALWAYS the fashion on the red carpet and this year was more beautiful than ever. Gold and cream gowns, Jewel tones and dresses fit for a fairy tale princess filled the Kodak theater.
My Favorite Flaunts:
1. Penelope Cruz
Winner: Best Actress in a Supporting Role: Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

Penelope wore a vintage Balmain Haute Couture dress. I love whenever vintage gowns are worn on the red carpet. She is one of my favorite actresses and she is perfect in this dress. The delicate lace and chiffon detail on this dress seems dreamlike. Simply Stunning. I wonder how many brides will copy this look?
2. Sarah Jessica Parker

The fashion goddess wore a “barely mint” Dior Haute Couture gown. She followed the Disney princess theme of the evening and had her prince right beside her. SJP looks like a sea foam cloud of perfection! The fashionista accessorized with Fred Leighton jewels. Sarah joined Daniel Craig to present Oscars to Best Art Direction and Costume Design. So appropriate.
3. Anne Hathaway

Miss Hathaway looked like a million bucks in this gorgeous silver Armani Prive gown, drenched in Swarovski crystals. She glided down the carpet in custom Casadei 1616 heels and wore a red-berry lip to complete the look. The 26-year-old was nominated for Best Actress for her role in Rachel Getting Married. Anne is a true testimony of what good breaking up with your Italian, con-artist/ fiance can do to a girl. She came out on top and better than ever.
4. Kate Winslet
Winner: Best Actress in a Leading Role: Kate Winslet, The Reader.

She wore a gun metal dress by Yves Saint Laurent. I think this was the best she has ever looked. The color of was amazing and I loved the one shoulder/sweetheart neckline. The cut was perfect and flattered her figure.
5. Natalie Portman

She wore a dark-pink strapless Rodarte dress with jewel beading on the bust. The dress, the makeup, and the hair was perfection. She absolutely glowed.
7. Miley Cyrus

Miley with her mom.
Aside from looking like Queen Frostine from Candyland , Miley pulled off this beautiful, dangerously embellished Zuhair Murad gown. She is often criticzed for dressing matronly on the red carpet, but this dress is perfect for her. The crystal beading, cincehd waist and tiered petals is stunning. I am finally a Miley fan!
8. Marisa Tomei

She has been known to make some pretty kooky wardrobe choices on the red carpet. Luckily this time she left the pirate suit and treasure at home and traded for this silver-gray Versace Atelier gown with accordion pleats. She was a breath taking!
