Jamie Foxx verbally attacks Miley Cyrus

Jamie Fox might be the one person in America who is not a fan of  Miley Cyrus.

After lashing out in a verbal attack against the tween star on his Sirius satellite radio show saying,  Cyrus should “make a sex tape and grow up, just do some heroin like Britney Spears.”

The shocking outburst was in reference to Cryus’ claim that she would “ruin” Radiohead, after the band rejected her a meeting at the Grammys.

Needless to say Billy Ray Cyrus found nothing funny about Foxx’ comment. Even though Foxx apologized to the Cyrus family, it is not water under the bridge for papa Cyrus.

Here is Billy Ray Cyrus on The Bonnie Hunt Show responding to the comments:

What are your thoughts on Jamie’s ill-advised “advice”?

The Oscars: Best Dressed

The stars came out Sunday night to the 81st Annual Academy Awards in Los Angeles.

The interviews, evening gowns, and tearful acceptance speeches are why I love to watch. The highlight for me is ALWAYS the fashion on the red carpet and this year was more beautiful than ever.  Gold and cream gowns, Jewel tones and dresses fit for a fairy tale princess filled the Kodak theater.

My Favorite Flaunts:

1. Penelope Cruz

Winner: Best Actress in a Supporting Role:  Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

Penelope wore a vintage Balmain Haute Couture dress. I love whenever vintage gowns are worn on the red carpet. She is one of  my favorite actresses and she is perfect in this dress. The delicate lace and chiffon detail on this dress seems dreamlike. Simply Stunning. I wonder how many brides will copy this look?

2. Sarah Jessica Parker

The fashion goddess wore a “barely mint” Dior Haute Couture gown. She followed the Disney princess theme of the evening and had her prince right beside her.  SJP looks like a sea foam cloud of perfection! The fashionista  accessorized with Fred Leighton jewels. Sarah joined Daniel Craig to present Oscars to Best Art Direction and Costume Design. So appropriate.

3.  Anne Hathaway

Miss Hathaway looked like a million bucks in this gorgeous silver Armani Prive  gown, drenched in Swarovski crystals. She glided down the carpet in custom Casadei 1616 heels and wore a red-berry lip to complete the look. The 26-year-old was nominated for Best Actress for her role in Rachel Getting Married. Anne is a true testimony of what good breaking up with your Italian, con-artist/ fiance can do to a girl. She came out on top and better than ever.

4. Kate Winslet

Winner: Best Actress in a Leading Role:  Kate WinsletThe Reader.

She wore a gun metal dress by Yves Saint Laurent. I think this was the best she has ever looked. The color of  was amazing and I loved the one shoulder/sweetheart neckline. The cut was perfect and flattered her figure.

5. Natalie Portman

She wore a dark-pink strapless Rodarte dress with jewel beading on the bust. The dress, the makeup, and the hair was perfection. She absolutely glowed.

7. Miley Cyrus

Miley with her mom.

Miley with her mom.

Aside from looking like Queen Frostine from Candyland , Miley pulled off this beautiful, dangerously embellished Zuhair Murad gown. She is often criticzed for dressing matronly on the red carpet, but this dress is perfect for her. The crystal beading, cincehd waist and tiered petals is stunning. I am finally a Miley fan!

8. Marisa Tomei

She has been known to make some pretty kooky wardrobe choices on the red carpet. Luckily this time she left the pirate suit and treasure at home and traded for this silver-gray Versace Atelier gown with accordion pleats.  She was a breath taking!

Rhianna’s Disturbing Photograph

Celebrity gossip site TMZ.com shows a close-up photograph of  Rihanna’s bruised face covered with scratches  and suffering a swollen  lip.

The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating how the picture of Rihanna following her domestic dispute with Chris Brown made it’s way to the internet.

“The photograph has the appearance of one taken during an official domestic violence investigation. The Los Angeles Police Department takes seriously its duty to maintain the confidentiality of victims of domestic violence,” the LAPD said in a statement Thursday. “A violation of this type is considered serious misconduct, with penalties up to and including termination.”

Must See Reality TV

AHHH! There are so many fantastic shows premiering I can hardly contain myself! I rarely have time to watch TV and when I do it is either E! or CNN, but I am going to clear my schedule for these! Here are the shows that I will be obsessed with:

1. T.I’s Road Redemption begins Tuesday (tonight!!), February 10 @ 9pm ET/PT on MTV.

45 days and counting until Grammy- winning superstar T.I. will face up to 30 years in jail for his arrest stemming from weapons charges. However a deal was worked out between his lawyers and the federal governent, if he completes 1000 hours of community service during this year ending this March his jail time will be reduced.
T.I’s Road To Redemption: 45 Days To Go will follow T.I. as he attempts to change himself and the lives of troubled teens across the country. The show will give a sneek peek at his most private moments including the birth of his sixth child, the release of his sixth album “Paper Trail,” and the drama that leads up to his sentence.
T.I. is one of my favorite rappers and I can not wait to watch!  Fun Fact: Pharrell Williams once called T.I.
” the Jay-Z of the South.” That is reason enough to love him.
Check out this interview with T.I. on Last Call With Carson Daly:

2. Making the Band 4 (Season 3) begins Thursday, February 12 @9pm on MTV.

Is Danity Kane Damaged beyond repair? You’re about to find out…

Diddy is back and as usual drama is right behind him… last season ended in tears and the claws came out when Dawn opened up to Diddy about what was really going on inside the group. Day26’s Que Moseley told MTV, “The reason Danity Kane is not together right now is because of Aubrey,” said Que (a.k.a Dawn’s boyfriend). “And I feel like she was all for herself, she only cared about making Aubrey happy. And when you’re in a group, sometimes you have to learn to humble yourself.” After hearing the dirt about the girls, Diddy gave Aubrey and D. Woods the boot, but will they be gone forever? Guess we will have to watch and see what Diddy has up his Gucci sleeve.

3. Running in Heels premieres March 1 @ 8/7c on the Style Network.

Style Network’s new show Running in Heels follows 3 interns at Marie Claire Magazine as they struggle to prepare for fashion week, adjust to the Big Apple and learn about the cut throat world of fashion.

4. Keeping Up With the Kardashians: The New Season Premieres Sun., March 8 10/9c

Love, Love , Love this show! I can’t wait until this season.

“Fairytale” - Sara Bareilles

This song brings out the feminist in me! It is the “Cinderella story” not told in children’s books. “Fairytale” is about defying the storybooks and not waiting for prince charming to come and wake you from your slumber. Sometimes your white knight has to work late and can’t save you…
You can catch Sara’s performance tonight on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno at 10:35/11:35C on NBC.

Not So Picture Perfect

jessica-simpson41 article-0-04b44bc90000044d-551_224x593    Jessica Simpson’s recent weight battle has become an American crisis and obsession. Simpson is the new Jennifer Love Hewitt thanks to some unflattering photographs taken of the starlet while performing at a chili cook-off in Florida.

A few years ago Jessica was on every magazine cover sporting her daisy dukes and discussing her marriage split.

Now she is taking the place of our president on magazine covers as mentioned during President Obama’s pre-Super Bowl interview with Matt Lauer. It makes one wonder what is most important to America? Since when did a picture of woman’s weight gain become more important than the first family on the cover of a magazine?

During President Obama’s interview with Lauer, Obama made light of being bumped from the Us Weekly cover when Laur said, “You got replaced by Jessica Simpson.” Obama joked, “Who’s in a weight battle, apparently. Oh well!”

As a woman this is embarrassing; a week after the inauguration, with so many wonderful changes happening and all we can focus on is Jessica Simpson’s jean size. The fact that this has been turned into an issue is frustrating to me. In this day and age when women are making huge strides such as Hillary Clinton, who is now the Secretary of State, all we can focus on is this.

Women demand “real beauty” on the covers of magazines and yet in situations like these when a woman embraces her body and all the baggage that comes with it, we exhibit judgmental behavior. MSNBC calls this behavior “Body-Bullying”-Internet know-it-all’s taking potshots at the singer.
How can we expect young girls to respect and love themselves if all they see are beautiful women who they idolize being torn apart by the media?

Galina Espinoza, editor of People magazine and plus-size model Emme sat down with Natalie Morales on Today last Thursday to discuss Jessica Simpson’s body and other women who have been victim’s of  ”Body-Bullying.”

Nick Lachey says, he is stunned by the hype being made over his ex-wife’s new figure. “I wish her nothing but the best and hope she’s happy – whatever size that comes in,” he tells Extra. “I can’t believe it’s this big of a story and people are making such a big deal about it. I’m never ceased to be amazed by people’s reactions to things.”

I agree with Nick!  Let’s all give Miss Simpson a rest and move onto a BIGGER topic!
